This Giving Tuesday, we're donating to a cause that's very close to our hearts. We're thrilled to announce that we will be continuing our support of the New Mount Hope Calvary Baptist Church which has a Chicago-based organization that supports children who call the Englewood community home.
Kid Made Modern will donate $5,000 to help Mount Hope Calvary Baptist Church keep the doors open to the community this holiday season.
New Mount Hope Calvary Church is located in the heart of Englewood, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Chicago. The community has a high rate of gun violence, drug addiction, and a majority of families who live there are below the poverty line. Food insecurity and safety are dire issues for the children of this community.
Yolanda Morris, along with her husband, Pastor Frank Morris, and sister, Willeta, are bright spots in the Englewood community. Their organization tutors, feeds, and creates programs for up to 300 children who need additional love and support to push through the barriers in their community and pursue their dreams.
Earlier this year, we were thrilled to support the work that New Mount Hope Calvary Baptist Church is doing by starting a GoFundMe where we donated $5000 and helped to eventually raise more than $11,000. That money went to fund their summer camp program. We're so glad to be able to support them again this holiday season.
