Shrink Art Monogram Friendship Jewelry
Monogrammed jewelry never goes out of style and these pieces are a super cute way to share the look with a friend!
Materials: Kid Made Modern Shrink Art Jewelry Kit
Steps:
- Color your charms -- pick a few charms to use in the jewelry and color them on the rough side with the included pencils. Make sure to add some alphabet initials to make it monogrammed. If you want the shiny side of the charm to be face up after you shrink them, just horizontally mirror flip the initials when you add them (draw them backwards). If that's too challenging, they still look good with the rough side up too! Remove the dot in the charm eyelet so you can hang your charms.
- Shrink charms -- preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Place the charms on aluminum foil, rough side up. Bake for 1 -3 minutes. Edges will curl up, then flatten. Bake an additional 30 seconds after flattened. Remove your charms from the oven and let cool before touching.
- String together jewelry -- add the charms and other kit baubles to a chain to make a necklace or cut a length of cord for a bracelet. You can try the different fasteners in the kit or simply tie the stretched cord to complete the piece (the stretched cord makes cute hair ties too!)
