STEAM Fuzzy Stick Pasta Arches DIY

Build a pasta rainbow with the STEAM Fuzzy Stick Sculpture Set! Using your kit and some tube-shaped pasta from your kitchen, you can make this unique rainbow arch sculpture. Read below to learn how!

Materials Needed:

• STEAM Fuzzy Stick Sculpture Set
• Pasta noodles with holes
• Acrylic paint
• Ziploc bags
• Parchment paper
• Cookie sheet or tray

Instructions:

Step 1

Paint your pasta! You can use any tube-shaped pasta (like ziti or rigatoni) for this project. To paint your noodles, place a handful into a plastic ziploc bag. Squirt 1-2 tablespoons of acrylic paint into the bag and zip it closed. Use your hands to gently shake the bag and rub to coat all of the noodles. Place a piece of parchment paper onto a cookie sheet or tray. Dump your pasta onto the paper and spread it out to dry for a few hours. You can make any colors you would like in your sculpture.

Step 2

Open up your Fuzzy Stick Sculpture Set. Find the paper tubes and cut several tubes into 2-3 inch pieces.  Place these pieces into your board along two opposite edges. You can place them on the outer row or move them in. Place the end of the fuzzy sticks into the paper tubes to create arches that stretch across the board.

Step 3

Remove your fuzzy sticks one at a time and place your colored pasta and/or beads to cover the length of the fuzzy stick. Once it is full of pasta/beads, place the fuzzy stick back into the straws. Work until you love the look of your sculpture! One of the great things about this set is that you can change your sculpture down the line and work with your materials to make something new.
